EDMONTON, Alberta — April 1, 2022. Fedora Pharmaceuticals Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sameeh M. Salama as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and Level IV Principal Investigator, effective April 1, 2022.
Dr. Salama has been an integral member of the Fedora team since the company's founding and has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization's scientific and business development objectives. In his new role, Dr. Salama will lead Fedora's scientific strategy, research and development programs, and innovation initiatives focused on addressing antimicrobial resistance through the discovery and development of novel anti-infective therapeutics.
Dr. Salama brings more than 30 years of experience in antimicrobial drug discovery, biotechnology development, strategic partnerships, licensing, and business development. Prior to this appointment, he served as Vice President, Business Development at Brass Dome Ventures Ltd. from 2016 to 2022, where he supported strategic planning, partnership development, and commercialization initiatives for emerging life science and technology ventures.
Before joining Brass Dome Ventures, Dr. Salama held senior leadership positions at NAEJA Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he served as Vice President and was actively involved in numerous licensing and partnership transactions. During his tenure, he contributed to the development and commercialization of innovative anti-infective technologies and played a key role in the licensing of beta-lactamase inhibitor programs that ultimately formed the foundation of Fedora's nacubactam development program.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Salama served as Director of Microbiology at SynPhar Laboratories, where he led antibacterial and antifungal drug discovery programs and contributed to the advancement of several novel therapeutic candidates.
Sameeh's scientific leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and commitment to combating antimicrobial resistance have been instrumental to Fedora's success. His extensive experience in both research and business development makes him uniquely qualified to lead our scientific organization as we continue to expand our pipeline of innovative anti-infective therapies.

Dr. Salama earned a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Salford, United Kingdom, and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta. Throughout his career, he has authored numerous scientific publications, contributed to multiple patents, and has been actively involved in national and international initiatives addressing antimicrobial resistance.
